Again our day started with whales spotted before we had left the river mouth with four different pods. One mum, calf and escort were all very active, tail slapping and the calf breaching for the first 25 minutes of our cruise. We had only travelled 10 minutes out from the harbour before we were alongside another mum, calf and escort. The calf was very relaxed and curious of our boat. This pod slowly swam south before they met up with another mum and calf. This interaction stirred up some playful behaviour and one of the calves breached continuously for 30 minutes showing us how beautiful these animals truly are. Our day finished how it started, with large adult whales breaching and head lunging and putting on a beautiful show for all of us.
