Thursday October 20th – Whale Report from the helm on Whale One. A total of 12 whales.
Picture perfect conditions again today as Whale One went in search of some fun loving whales. A total of 8 whales all together, they had a mother, calf and escort close to the boat with the calf being very cute whilst practicing his perduncle throws, fin slaps and lounging around on his back. 2 pods( a group of whales) were sighted by both passengers and crew breaching a mile or two away from the boat.
The afternoon whales were very playful also. With a pod of 3 sighted just 3 mile off Point Cartwright. There were some very close breaches by an excited calf. Whale One remained idle whist the whales swam around the boat. The mother followed suite with 3 massive breaches and some frantic tail slapping.
