Total of 10+ Whales
Today the conditions were absolutely sensational out on the water, with the skipper Wayne saying it was a 11/10 day and the visibility today was like looking into a crystal ball!
Only just 1.5 nautical miles east of Point Cartwright we saw 2 different pods of mothers and calves, each pair accompanied by a whale escort. The whales were extremely relaxed so much so they treated our guests to some close encounters and were saying hello with some pec waves! After a spectacular cruise this morning, the whale acrobatics continued this after much to the delight of our passengers.
We had 2 pods of mother and calf, the 4 whales were together then separated. The first pair were very playful, with the calf showing off his breaching skills and pec slapping for half an hour. The boat joined up with the second pair and these two giants gave us some incredible and very special close encounters!
Returning back to Point Cartwright there were 3 different pods in the distance all breaching and our customers were ecstatic. Such a great way to end a day of glass our conditions and amazing whale performances!
