Whale One - Photo of the Day (24 July 2007)

Well hello from all the crew at Steve’s Whale One!

We had a very bouncy day out there on the water today… big seas and lots of wind… made for a very interesting roller coaster ride!

Unfortunately this made finding whales very very difficult and our chosen northerly track - the most comfortable for our passengers – didn’t bring us any closer to the whales. We spotted one pod of whales quite late in the day but getting closer to them would have meant punching out through more big waves and more of our passengers getting sea sick (we’d already lost quite a few by this stage). Instead we continued our more comfortable track with the swell and headed back into Point Cartwright where everyone was pretty happy to be back on dry land.

Tomorrow is predicted to be similar weather conditions so I shall talk to you all again next week and let you know what we’re up to.
